Neptune Maritime Security
Established in the UK by former members of the Special Forces (Maritime), Neptune Maritime Security provides specialist armed security teams to protect against piracy.
Neptune offers a personal security service to cover all vessel types, and uses only top quality personnel for its teams, who not only understand the piracy threat and how to deal with it, but also understand ships and the requirements of the crews and Masters.
Neptune's emphasis is on prevention, training, preparation, vigilance, and re-assurance.
Neptune was selected to work with the BBC and a Neptune Team was accompanied on a transit. The documentary, featuring an actual piracy incident, appeared on the BBC in 2012 and it can be viewed on the Neptune website (http://www.neptunemaritimesecurity.com/).
The company is a signatory of the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers and is closely involved in creating industry-wide accreditation through its work with the Security in Complex Environments Group (SCEG) and the British government.
Neptune also has an office in Dubai as well as UK, to enable it to be close to the theatre of operations and give excellent response times to shipping companies.
This conference was informative and encouraging, affording the opportunity to learn and collaborate across companies.
