Insurance Claims Management Conference

The Claims Management Conference was held on 19th & 20th of January in Prague, Czech Republic. Once again, Uniglobal team managed to organize a highly successful event, bringing together the leading experts in claims management area from the top companies around Europe, UK, Russia & CIS, etc.

The first day of the conference was open with an excellent presentation by AXA Direct, France, which gave an insight into the major trends and challenges in managing claims worldwide, supported with practical examples and case studies. Presentations on customer services, operational efficiency, cost reduction, technological advancements and fighting fraud followed, all of them bringing extensive experience and knowledge on each subject.

The second day was equally successful, focusing mainly on non-life insurance, it gave the audience an opportunity to go into more details in efficient management of different types of claims. There were excellent presentations supported by case studies and examples.

The conference was highly interactive and gave the participants a chance to network and exchange ideas and experiences on the main issues in handling claims.

2nd Annual Hospital Management Conference, Prague, Czech Republic

The 2nd Annual Hospital Management Conference was highly successful. It brought together impressive number of senior-level experts who had an opportunity to share knowledge, experience and discuss current issues and challenges in hospital management. The event was held in Prague, on 20th & 21st of October.

The first day was open by a presentation on "Managing a New Strategy in Difficult Times" and continued in line of excellent presentations displaying the newest strategies in management, solutions, investments and cost-reduction strategies in hospitals.

The second day was mainly dedicated to improving quality in hospitals despite tough conditions, and various case-studies on public-private partnership and development of private hospitals were presented, giving an unique opportunity to hear different approaches and experiences from the major institutions around Europe.

Uniglobal team would like to thank the speakers for their commitment and effort into putting together excellent presentations, and the sponsors for their contribution and help! We would also like to extend personal thanks to our Chairmen for successfully leading the two days of the conference. Bancassurance Europe 2011, 6th & 7th of October, Munich, Germany

On 6th & 7th of October Uniglobal team held an annual "Bancassurance Europe 2011" conference. The conference was held in Munich and was attended by more than 80 participants. Uniglobal managed to bring together a unique group of professionals from Europe, Africa and US. We discussed operational models of bancassurance, different schemes of partnership, stand alone products, white labeling, etc.

We started day one with a presentation on "Trends in European Bancassurance", that was delivered by Aviva. The presentation provoked a long discussion about current situation within the industry and showed the necessity of choosing innovative approach to bancassurance on the European level. Nordea shared their concerns on "Increasing the Customer Satisfaction''. I should especially mention the involvement of participants from Interpolis Achmea and National Bank of Greece, who actively participated in QA sessions and panel discussions. Following panel discussion, representative from Interpolis Achmea delivered a presentation on partnership with Rabobank and the extent of their business integration.

Day 2 was mainly dedicated to distribution methods and sales processes support. Top level executives from Talanx and Millenium BCP Ageas spoke about their models of partnership with banks. We identified the main triggers of bancassurance from insurance point of view, such as: brand affinity, full approach to financial needs, pricing, risk control, etc. The last session of conference was focused on opportunities in emerging markets. The regional head of bancassurance from Societte Generale presented a case study of SocGen business in Russia. Presentation was focused on applicability of Western business models in Eastern Europe.

3rd Annual Health Services Excellence: Munich, Germany

The 3rd Annual Health Services Excellence Conference was held on 15th & 16th of September in Munich, and it brought together an excellent mix of health insurers, healthcare executives, assistance companies & hospitals representatives and other healthcare providers, who discussed the latest issues in health insurance product development, sales & distribution tactics, cost-effective strategies & clients satisfaction.

The first day of the conference was opened with focus on the latest trends & challenges in the healthcare industry, and continue with discussions on customer satisfaction & service innovation, health policy goals, and threats & opportunities from the healthcare reforms. It was concluded with highly interactive panel discussion on: How the health sector is responding to the reforms.

The second day was also filled with excellent presentations exploring the sales & distribution strategies, partnership relations between insurance companies, assistance companies & hospitals, opportunities related to medical tourism & expatriates, and was concluded with an overview of the cost-effective strategies.

Once again, this year event dedicated to the health sector was incredibly successful, as it managed to reveal and explore the essential topics related to the healthcare industry.

Central Asian Microfinance Fair 2011, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan

Central Asian Microfinance Fair 2011, was held on 7th & 8th of July in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The conference had an outstanding success, became the event of the year for the microfinance sector in Central Asia. Thanks to the media coverage local population was widely informed about the conference and had the opportunity to follow it on TV and in magazines, for more information click here. During the two days delegates and speakers had an opportunity to discuss the most up-to-date topics on the future of microfinance sector development in Central Asian region.

The President of Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Rosa Otunbayeva opened the conference with the overview of the microfinance sector in Kyrgyzstan. Her excellence made a very inspiring presentation that gave impetus to the further discussions during these two days. European asset management companies shared their concerns about the possible ways of tackling the difficulties that the microfinance sector is currently facing in the region. Central Asian Microfinance companies managed to prove sustainability of the sector by successfully overcoming the aftermath of the financial downturn. The social role of microfinance sector is especially obvious after the civil unrests in Kyrgyzstan last year.

In the end of the second day of the conference General Manager of Kyrgyz MFI named Bai-Tushum summarised the main topics of the conference in a resolution, that was prepared by top management of Kyrgyz MFIs and Association of Microfinance Instituions of Kyrgyzstan. This resolution was sent to the office of the President of Kyrgyz Republic for further discussions. Another outcome of the conference was the contract signed between EBRD and Kyrgyz MFI Bai-Tushum. According to the agreement Bai-Tushum will get a loan of 6 million US dollars in local currency to provide an affordable financing to small businesses in Kyrgyzstan. Branch Banking 2011: Optimising Retail Branch Networks

Branch Banking remains the major point of business, and the only point where the banks have actual contact with their customers. The practices around Europe have shown that even though the branches are losing their volume, they haven't lose their central role in the banking distribution system.

Therefore, on 9th & 10th of June, in Barcelona, we have filled the conference room with the leading practitioners in the area of retail banking, who had a unique opportunity to share their knowledge and experiences with colleagues from around the globe.

The first day of the conference was chaired by David Cavell, who gave and excellent overview of recent trend and challenges in the branch banking, followed by presentations on the newest innovations and successful stories, and ended in a highly interactive panel discussion involving all the participants.

The second day, with Marco Cavallari from TeamLab as a chairman, was also filled with excellent presentations and case studies, and the main focus was placed on the role of the branch in the multi-channel delivery. The participants had a chance to explore and exchange their ideas and experiences in the 2nd panel discussion, which marked the end of the second day.
